All American Turf Beauty, Inc. was incorporated in April 1976 by Daryle and Linda Johnson. Daryle was the only full-time employee and handled both sales and production for the first two seasons.

In 1976, Daryle also became a manufacturer's representative for the Andersons Lawn Group and several other Lawn and Garden Supplies. All American Turf Beauty still works closely with the Andersons as their sales representative west of the Mississippi.

After a difficult season the company ended 1976 with 95 customers. The second year the number increased four-fold to nearly 400, and the third year increased that number to more than 900. The business hasn't slowed down yet. In 1983, the company was number 323 on the "Inc 500" Inc. magazine's list of the fastest growing companies in the United States.

All American Turf Beauty has grown to encompass 3 residential branches. We opened our second office in Ames, Iowa in 1978. In 1980, we opened a branch in Waterloo, Iowa. A commercial branch was started in 1989 to service accounts with large turf areas.

In 1990, the company further diversified by adding Irrigation Design, Installation, and Service.

While the growth of the company isn't doubling or tripling as it did in the 1970's and early 1980's, the company still has a steady growth in business each year. All American Turf Beauty has a customer base of 7,500 customers in over 230 cities and towns in Iowa and Minnesota.

In 1995, the company amended it's Employee 401K Profit Sharing Plan to an (ESOP) Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This plan will steadily transfer ownership of the company to the employees.
