Emerald Ash Borer Treatment

Emerald Ash Borer is a green beetle native to Asia. It was accidently transported here and has become an invasive pest to our Native and Urban Ash trees.

In areas infected by the Emerald Ash Borer, the population of Ash trees has been nearly wiped out. Preventative treatment is the only way to protect your Ash trees located on your property. It is the only way to prevent expensive cutting, removal, and disposal costs necessary when your Ash tree dies. As the saying goes – pay now or pay later.

How do I know if I have an Ash tree?

  • Branches are directly across from each other and are not staggered. This is called opposite branching.
  • Mature Ash trees have a tight ridged bark –often times with a distinct diamond shape pattern.
  • Leaves are compound in groups of 5-11 leaflets

Why should I be worried if I have an Ash tree?

The Emerald Ash Borer is non-selective. Sooner or later it will attack ALL Ash trees. Unfortunately, without preventative treatment, it really is only a matter of time before the Emerald Ash Borer infests your Ash tree and kills the tree.

The cost of cutting down infected, dead or dying Ash trees is estimated to be 10 times the cost of preventative treatment options that will save your Ash tree.
